Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RateMyFeet ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, upload content, or interact with the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We reserve the right to request proof of age and to suspend accounts that violate this condition.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features (uploading, voting, bookmarking), you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you upload. However, by uploading content to the Platform, you grant RateMyFeet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

5. Content Guidelines

RateMyFeet is a platform dedicated to sharing and rating photos of feet. All uploaded content must comply with the following rules:

  • Identity: The person in the photos must be you. Uploading photos of other individuals without their explicit consent is prohibited.
  • Relevance: Photos must be relevant to the purpose of the Platform (feet). Off-topic content will be removed.
  • No explicit or sexual content: Nudity, sexually suggestive poses, or explicit material is strictly prohibited.
  • No identifiable faces: Photos must not include visible faces to protect privacy.
  • Quality standards: Images must be at least 800×600 pixels, in JPEG, PNG, or WebP format, and under 5 MB.

6. Moderation

All uploaded content is subject to automated moderation (powered by image analysis technology) and manual review by our moderation team. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Content Guidelines, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Content flagged by our automated system may be placed under review before becoming publicly visible.

7. Voting & Ranking System

The Platform features a community-driven voting and ranking system. Rankings, badges, and trending indicators are calculated automatically based on engagement metrics. Any attempt to manipulate votes, rankings, or engagement metrics (including the use of bots, fake accounts, or coordinated voting) is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.

8. Prohibited Conduct

  • Harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior toward other users
  • Impersonation of another person or entity
  • Spamming, including repetitive uploads or misleading titles
  • Attempting to circumvent moderation or security measures
  • Collecting or scraping user data without authorization
  • Using the Platform for any illegal purpose

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, logos, features, and underlying technology, is the property of RateMyFeet. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform without prior written consent.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RateMyFeet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately, and we may delete your content.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
